Discover one of the true gems of the Middle East! Oman has it all—crystal-clear sea, deserted beaches, majestic mountains, mysterious towns, and ancient forts.
We’ll visit and photograph places rich in history (some of them UNESCO World Heritage Sites), breathtaking landscapes, local people, animals, and much more. Our expedition will take us into the highest mountain range, the Hajar Mountains, where we’ll hike along the rim of Oman’s own version of Death Valley. You’ll also experience a stay in the desert, including an adrenaline-filled photo session of cars racing over sand dunes. We’ll explore deep canyons with natural water pools—perfect for a refreshing dip. Despite its location, Oman is surprisingly green, and in many places, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a story from One Thousand and One Nights.
Day 1: Departure from Prague
Our adventure begins with a flight from Prague to the Arabian Peninsula.
Day 2: Muscat and Nizwa
Arrival in Muscat, the capital of Oman. We'll visit the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before heading inland to the beautiful historic city of Nizwa.
Day 3: Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar Mountains
In the morning, we’ll explore the traditional goat market in Nizwa. Then we’ll head into the Jebel Akhdar mountains for a scenic trek through terraced fields and visit the abandoned village of Bani Habib.
Day 4: Villages and Canyons
We’ll photograph the ancient villages of Al Hamra and Ghul, followed by a relaxed trek along the Balcony Walk with breathtaking views over Oman's Grand Canyon.
Day 5: Misfat al Abriyeen and Fortresses
Today we'll photograph the picturesque mountain village of Misfat al Abriyeen, known for its palm gardens and traditional falaj irrigation channels (UNESCO). Later we’ll visit the Bahla Fort and Jabrin Castle.
Day 6: Canyon and Dunes
We’ll explore the stunning Wadi Bani Khalid canyon, and in the afternoon transfer to the Wahiba Sands desert (Sharqiya Sands). Prepare for an exciting ride on the dunes and sunset photography in the heart of the desert.
Day 7: Dunes and Sur
Early morning shoot in the dunes, with optional quad bike or camel rides. In the afternoon we’ll head to Sur, a coastal town where we’ll photograph the lighthouse and scenic views over the city.
Day 8: Wadi Shab and Swimming Adventure
We’ll trek through the beautiful Wadi Shab canyon, including swimming in a hidden cave with a waterfall—an unforgettable adventure. Afterward, we’ll visit the Bimmah Sinkhole and take a refreshing swim in the Gulf of Oman.
Day 9: Muscat and Departure
Back in Muscat, we’ll visit the elegant Royal Opera House, the Sultan’s Palace, and the bustling Muttrah Souq. Evening flight back to Prague.
Day 10: Arrival in Prague
Return home full of unforgettable memories from magical Oman.
