On the map, the Faroe Islands may look like a scattered puzzle, but in reality, they are a stunning and highly photogenic group of islands—full of dramatic bird cliffs often veiled in clouds, waterfalls, charming villages with grass-roofed houses, and unpredictable, ever-changing weather.
During our photo expedition, we’ll thoroughly explore the northern islands. We'll visit and photograph various cliffs and rocky coastlines, ocean rock formations, waterfalls, fjords, and—of course—wildlife such as puffins and the iconic local sheep.
We’ll capture the famous Múlafossur waterfall near the village of Gásadalur, the mighty Fossá waterfall, and hike along Lake Leitisvatn to the scenic cliff of Trælanípa with the Bøsdalafossur waterfall flowing into the ocean.
We’ll also visit the picturesque village of Saksun with its traditional turf-roofed houses, explore other villages and harbors, and photograph the iconic view of the church with a mountain backdrop in Viðareiði.
Optionally, you can join an extra excursion to Mykines island, where puffins can be photographed up close, or take a ferry to Kalsoy island with breathtaking views of the Kallur lighthouse.
Don’t worry about the cold—temperatures on the Faroes during this period typically range from +5°C to +15°C. And don’t let the idea of a challenging expedition discourage you—the program can be adjusted individually to fit your needs and comfort.

Day 1: Arrival in the Faroe Islands
After landing at Vágar Airport, we’ll settle into our accommodation. If time allows, we’ll kick off the trip by visiting the iconic Múlafossur waterfall, plunging directly into the ocean—one of the most famous views of the Faroes.

Day 2: Drangarnir Sea Stacks
We’ll head out on a guided tour to Drangarnir, one of the most iconic rock formations in the Faroe Islands. If you wish, there will be time to enjoy this spectacular spot in peace—away from the crowds.

Day 3: Saksun and Tjørnuvík
We’ll explore the island of Streymoy, visiting the picturesque village of Saksun with its traditional turf-roofed houses. Then we’ll continue to Tjørnuvík, a scenic village with dramatic views of the sea stacks Risin and Kellingin.

Day 4: Mykines Island and Fossá Waterfall

An optional trip to Mykines island will take us to photograph puffins—perhaps the most charming birds of the Faroes. Later, we’ll visit Fossá waterfall, one of the tallest on the islands, which can also be photographed across the inlet.

Day 5: Trælanípa and Bøsdalafossur Waterfall
We’ll hike to Trælanípa, a stunning cliff location where Lake Leitisvatn appears to hover above the ocean. We’ll continue to the impressive Bøsdalafossur waterfall, which crashes straight into the sea.

Day 6: Kalsoy Island and Kallur Lighthouse
As an optional excursion, we’ll visit Kalsoy island and hike to the famous Kallur lighthouse, perched atop dramatic cliffs with breathtaking views over the surrounding islands.

Day 7: Klakkur and Viðareiði
We’ll enjoy panoramic views from Klakkur viewpoint above the town of Klaksvík. Then we’ll explore the easternmost island Viðoy, stopping at the village of Viðareiði, known for its charming church and sweeping mountain views.

Day 8: Departure
Transfer to Vágar Airport and flight back to Prague.
